Text Compare
See exactly what changed between two drafts. Words that were removed are struck through, new words are highlighted, and a summary counts the changes. For line-by-line code comparison, use the Diff Checker.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.
How to use
- Paste the original text on the first box and the changed version in the second.
- Press Compare.
- Review the highlighted result. Removed words are marked in red and struck through; added words are marked in green.
Examples
“The meeting is on Monday” vs “The meeting is on Tuesday morning” shows “Monday” removed and “Tuesday morning” added.
Getting the most from a text comparison
Comparing two versions is the fastest way to review an edit from a colleague, see what changed in a contract or an article, or confirm that a translation kept every sentence. Because the comparison works word by word, even a single replaced word is highlighted.
Paste both texts with the same formatting for the best result, since differences in spacing or line breaks may show up as changes. For code or configuration files where whole lines matter, the Diff Checker is the better choice. The comparison happens in your browser, so confidential drafts stay on your device.

Frequently asked questions
How does the comparison work?
Both texts are split into words and spaces, then a longest-common-subsequence algorithm finds the smallest set of insertions and deletions.
Is there a size limit?
Comparisons up to about 20,000 words per side run comfortably. Larger texts are refused so the page does not freeze.
