EXIF Viewer & Metadata Remover
Photos often carry hidden details: the exact GPS position where they were taken, the device, and timestamps. See what a photo reveals and remove it before sharing.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.
How to use
- Choose a photo. JPG files carry the most metadata; PNG and WebP are also checked for basic information.
- Review the metadata table. GPS coordinates are highlighted if present.
- Choose how to clean: lossless (JPG only, keeps exact pixels) or re-encode (any format).
- Download the cleaned copy.
Examples
Remove GPS data from photos taken at home before posting them on a marketplace.
Look at DateTimeOriginal to see when the camera says the photo was taken.

Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab and use the tool. Your file never appears in an upload request. Once this page is saved for offline use, you can also disconnect from the internet and keep working. Ads and anonymous visit statistics, when enabled, make their own requests, but they never receive your files or text.
Frequently asked questions
What does lossless removal do?
For JPG files it deletes metadata segments (EXIF, XMP, IPTC, comments) without decoding the image, so pixels are untouched. If the photo relied on an orientation flag it may display rotated afterwards — the tool warns you and you can use re-encode instead.
Can metadata be trusted?
Not as proof. EXIF values are easy to edit, so treat them as hints, not evidence.
Which formats are supported?
Full EXIF parsing for JPEG. For PNG and WebP the tool reports dimensions and whether metadata chunks exist, and re-encoding removes them.
