HEIC to JPG Converter
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many websites, Windows apps and upload forms reject. This tool turns them into JPG (or PNG or WebP) right in your browser, so your private photos are never sent to a server.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.
How to use
- Add one or more .heic or .heif photos. You can drop a whole batch at once.
- Choose JPG for the widest compatibility, or PNG or WebP if you prefer.
- Optionally set a maximum width. A 12-megapixel iPhone photo is about 4000 px wide, and 1600–2000 px is usually plenty for the web.
- Press Convert, then download each photo or all of them as a ZIP.
Examples
Convert to JPG here, then use the [[tool:image-compressor]] if the form also has a size limit such as 100 KB.
Convert the whole batch to JPG at quality 92 and download the ZIP; every Windows app can open the result.
Choose JPG or WebP and set a maximum width of 1600 px for a much lighter file.

Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab and use the tool. Your file never appears in an upload request. Once this page is saved for offline use, you can also disconnect from the internet and keep working. Ads and anonymous visit statistics, when enabled, make their own requests, but they never receive your files or text.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The photos are decoded and re-encoded inside this page. The decoder is a small WebAssembly program that is downloaded once from this site; you can open your browser’s Network tab during a conversion to confirm that no photo is sent anywhere. After the first use it also works offline.
Does the converter keep the location and camera data?
No. The converted file contains pixels only, so GPS location, camera model and the date are not copied. That is usually what you want before sharing a photo, but it means the converted file cannot be used to recover that information.
Why does a photo from a Live Photo or a burst give one picture?
Only the main picture of each file is exported. Extra items stored in the same file, such as the video part of a Live Photo, are ignored.
Will the colours look exactly the same?
Almost always. Colour profiles are not copied to the output, so photos taken in the wide-gamut Display P3 mode can look slightly less vivid than on the phone.
Why is the JPG larger or smaller than my HEIC?
HEIC compresses more efficiently than JPG, so a JPG of the same visual quality is usually bigger. Lower the quality or set a maximum width to make it smaller, or use the Image Compressor afterwards.
A file says it could not be read. What now?
The file may be damaged, incomplete (for example a partly finished download), or larger than the limits of this browser. Files up to 50 MB and about 100 megapixels are accepted. Some “.heic” files are really JPEG files with the wrong extension; those are detected and converted too.
