Use {n} for the number and {total} for the page count. Latin letters and digits only.
Use commas and ranges. “8-” means page 8 to the end.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.

How to use

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Pick the position, the number style and the font size.
  3. Optionally change the first number, skip the first page (for a cover) or limit numbering to certain pages.
  4. Press Add page numbers, check the preview and download the new PDF.

Examples

Merged report with a cover page

Tick “Do not number the first page” and set the first number to 1, so the page after the cover shows 1.

Court or tender bundle

Use the “1 / 24” style at bottom right so every page shows its position and the total.

Frequently asked questions

Can I write “Page” in my language?

The numbers are drawn with the standard Helvetica font built into every PDF reader, which covers digits and Latin letters only. Custom text with Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean or other scripts is rejected rather than printed incorrectly, so the built-in styles use digits and symbols.

Will the numbers cover my content?

They are placed inside the page margin you set. If a document has content right at the edge, increase the margin or choose the top of the page.

Does it work with rotated pages?

Yes. The position is calculated for how the page is displayed, so numbers appear upright at the bottom (or top) of rotated pages too.
